O décimo-segundo episódio de “História das Canções” fala de “Strangers in the night”, lançada primeiramente em abril de 1966 num compacto simples de FRANK SINATRA, que dizia odiar a letra da música e que, por isso, ganhou inúmeras piadas de seu parceiro Dean Martin.
Em pouco mais de um ano, esta mesma canção já havia conhecido cerca de uma centena de gravações em estúdio. Também recebeu os registros discográficos de alguns expoentes da música norte-americana, como MARVIN GAYE e JAMES BROWN, além de ser homenageada por JIMI HENDRIX e sua guitarra no Festival Pop de Monterey, em 1967.
Ainda em 1966, a canção ganhou uma versão em língua portuguesa gravada por SIMONE DE OLIVEIRA, artista cuja imagem ficou associada ao enfrentamento da ditadura salazarista em Portugal devido à sua interpretação da canção "Desfolhada" em 1969.
